It’s a place full of charm, coastal beauty, and Highland spirit.. This is where Claire and Martin were born and raised, and where we always dreamed of returning. Today, it’s not just where we live and work — it’s a place we love to share.
A Haven for Wildlife
Dunnet Bay teems with life. You’ll spot oystercatchers, eider ducks, ringed plovers, and more. For a deeper look into local species and habitats, visit the Seadrift Visitor Centre at the north end of the beach — an interpretive hub for wildlife lovers of all ages.
Dunnet Bay – A Natural Wonder
Our wee distillery takes its name from Dunnet Bay, a sweeping two-mile arc of white sand and rolling dunes. Sheltered and serene, it’s perfect for paddling, swimming, surfing, and beach walks — whether you’re chasing waves or simply soaking in the views.

Dunnet Beach is also a great place to build sandcastles, walk your dog – you might meet our dog Mr Mackintosh, the Distillery Apprentice, or hunt for shells with many razor shells and whelks to be found on the sand.
Dunnet Head
Just three miles away lies the most northerly point of mainland Britain. Discover dramatic cliffs, windswept coastal paths, and nesting seabirds like fulmars, puffins, and razorbills.
Secluded Shores
For a hidden gem, visit Peedie Sands — a quiet, tucked-away beach reached via a short hike from Dwarwick Pier. Just be sure to check the tide times before you go!

We’re proud to welcome visitors from around the world to our distillery in Dunnet. Here’s how to find us:
- By Car
- From Thurso: Around 20 minutes along the A836 towards John O’Groats. We’re on the left-hand side in the village of Dunnet.
- From Wick: Take the A99 to Reiss, then the B876 to Castletown. Join the A836 to Dunnet — the distillery is signposted on the left, around a 30-minute drive.
- By Electric Vehicle
We have a 7KW EV charge point on-site. Please bring your own cable (40p per KW). - By Bus
